Permits for Mountain Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda Wildlife Authority - $800 USD) and Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda Development Board - $1,500 USD), as well as Chimpanzee habituation permits, are governed under strict statutory conservation regulations:
- 100% Upfront Payment: Gorilla and chimpanzee permits must be paid 100% in full at the time of booking to secure permit availability.
- 100% Non-Refundable Status: Once purchased from UWA or RDB, permits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable to other individuals under government wildlife law.
3. The Gold Standard 6-Passenger Vehicle Guarantee Core Guarantee
GoldenStar Adventures guarantees that every traveler on our customized 4x4 Land Cruiser safaris receives an unobstructed window seat. We strictly enforce an absolute ceiling of 6 passengers per 8-seat vehicle (leaving the central aisle open for 360-degree pop-up roof photography access).
In the unlikely event of vehicle mechanical breakdown in the bush, a dedicated relief 4x4 Land Cruiser is deployed from our nearest operational hub within our emergency response SLA.
4. 24/7 AMREF Flying Doctors Aeromedical Cover Safety Safeguard
Every GoldenStar Adventures traveler is automatically enrolled under our complimentary 24/7 AMREF Flying Doctors Maisha emergency aeromedical evacuation scheme for the entire duration of their East African safari.
- Cover Scope: In the event of acute medical trauma or life-threatening illness in remote wilderness zones, AMREF deploys intensive-care equipped aircraft and emergency physicians directly to the nearest bush airstrip to airlift the patient to Nairobi Level 5 trauma hospitals.
- Hospitalization Exclusion: While bush air ambulance transport is 100% covered, onward hospital admission, surgery, and overseas repatriation require personal international travel insurance.
